Mrs. Azar is the co-director of Creative Adventures, Inc. For the past 29 years, she has worked to develop and to create art immersion programs that have run in 25 schools in Montgomery County, MD. This past summer, Mrs. Azar was the director of the Fine Art Summer Camps at the Strathmore Mansion in North Bethesda. Originally from South America, Mrs. Azar’s passion for art has led her around the world.

Intro to Mandarin, Mandarin I, Mandarin I Accelerated
Amanda, affectionately known as “Miss Panda” has taught Mandarin and ESL to children in four continents. She received 5/5, the highest possible score in Chinese language at Foreign Service Institute, Department of State, in Washington DC. “Miss Panda” is the Chinese language and culture consultant for the Jim Henson Company’s Word Party Season 4 on Netflix.
Ms. M. Colin, BS
STEAM Teacher (Lower School Drawing & Design, Robotics & Coding, and Music)
Ms. Colin has been teaching for the past 10 years. She is an artist and experienced school performance director. She began her teaching experience as a second-grade teacher at the academy of science and foreign languages in Alabama. As MCA’s first-ever STEAM teacher, Ms. Colin inspires students and awakens their creativity through her virtual art and music classes. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
Mrs. Marietta Fowler, M.Ed.
Lower School Humanities
Mrs. Fowler has been in the educational arena for over 20 years as a classroom teacher, registrar, and testing coordinator. She holds a Bachelor of Education with an emphasis in English and Sociology, as well as a Master of Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Fowler is a Level 1 Google Certified Educator and lives with her husband and two daughters in Maryland.
Travis Gagau, BA
Physical Education I & II
Mr. Gagau is an experienced athlete! This past spring he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Physical Education. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Mr. Gagau lives in Keene, Texas.
O. Niko Guity, Ph.D.
Middle School Educational Strategist
Dr. Guity is an experienced educational leader. He has spent the last 20+ years improving educational, and operational, performance. Dr. Guity has served as a curriculum specialist at the McDonogh School, Instructor of Curriculum Theory and Development at Morgan State University, and has taught at every level of education. He holds a Master of Science in Curriculum and Development, another Master of Science in Secondary Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction, all from the University at Albany State University of New York (SUNY). In addition, Dr. Guity is an experienced practitioner of Okinawa Kyushiki Shorin Ryu Karate.
Mrs. Patrice Jenkins, M.Ed.
Lower School Math & Science, Middle School Science/STEM
Mrs. Jenkins is a teacher, curriculum author, educational consultant, speaker and presenter. As a Disney teaching ambassador, she is a creative teaching mentor to many. Mrs. Jenkins is in her 16th year of teaching, and lives in the Chicagoland area with her husband, D’Juan, and guinea pig, Paige. She holds a BS in Elementary Education, along with a Masters of Education in Administration.
Ms. Tanya Mattox, BA
Advanced Mathematics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Geometry Instructor
Ms. Mattox is an experienced mathematics instructor and tutor. She has been working with students to advance their mathematical competence for nearly 10 years, having also served with the Department of Defense. She loves math and has privately tutored students from elementary math through graduate-level statistics. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.
Mrs. Alyssa Minisee, MA
Middle School Science/STEAM, and Math
Mrs. Minisee has over a decade of teaching experience and has taught middle school in Ohio and Florida prior to relocating to Washington where she was a curriculum specialist for Griggs International Academy. Born in California, she holds a Bachelor in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. She lives with her son, Alex, and husband Brandon in the beautiful Washington State.
Mr. Tim Pruss, MS
Middle School Robotics & Coding
Mr. Pruss has an extensive background in computer science and technology and holds a Master of Science in Computer Systems Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. As a level 2 Google Certified Educator, Mr. Pruss brings his expertise into the virtual environment and guides our students as they program and code their Lego Robots each week.
Mrs. Yvette Pruss, MA
Middle School Humanities Lead
Mrs. Pruss has been teaching students for more than two and a half decades. In addition to having taught English/ESL at the elementary, high school, and collegiate level, she serves as the founder and director of “ELA Enrichment, LLC.” She holds a Bachelor of Arts in both English and Spanish, as well as a Master of Arts in English: Research, Writing, and Literature. Yvette has conducted several international trips abroad, has authored several educational articles, and together with her husband, Tim, are two of the original founders of Mounthaven Christian Academy.
Nadia Sangster, Esq.
Latin I, Latin I Accelerated
Ms. Sangster earned a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Languages and Latin prior to completing her Masters and Juris Doctorate degrees in pursuit of her career in law. As an honors student, Ms. Sangster received the Keahn Prize in classical languages, the Edward Fitch Prize in Latin and Greek, and the Emerson Foundation Research Grant for Latin translation.
Fred Warfield, DMin, MBA
Intro to the Bible, Biblical Studies I & II, Entrepreneurship
Dr. Warfield began his career as a teacher, chaplain, ordained pastor (senior, executive, and youth), and most recently a certified Human Resources Executive at a regional non-profit in the greater Washington DC area. Along with a Bachelor in Religion, Dr. Warfield completed his Master of Arts in Youth and Young Adult Studies, an MBA, and a Doctor of Ministry with a concentration in Strategic Leadership.
