Damian Dolland

Damian Dolland

Chairman

Damian Dolland is passionate about education. He is one of the founders of Mounthaven Christian Academy and the current Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Dolland also serves on the Board of Visitors of Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering and has a degree in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering with a Chemistry minor from Duke University.

Mr. Dolland has over two decades of experience in investment banking and financial advisory, including corporate finance and M&A. Prior to forming his own firm, Mr. Dolland was a Managing Director in Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan and spent over a decade at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Dolland is also the co-founder and CFO of a life sciences company focused on the development and commercialization of novel, small molecule therapeutics.

Scott Falk

Scott K. Falk, Esq.

Board Member

Scott Falk is a husband and the father of a sixth-grade student at Mounthaven Christian Academy.  Mr. Falk has been a licensed attorney for 31 years and currently serves as a Senior Executive for a federal government agency.  Like his son, Mr. Falk is an avid baseball fan and a lifetime supporter (through thick or thin) of the Chicago Cubs.  Mr. Falk, his wife Kirstin, son Charles-Henry, and golden-doodle Wrigley live in Silver Spring, Maryland.  He and his family have been members of Community Praise Church in Alexandria, Virginia since 2002. 

Melissa Brooks

Melissa Brooks, CPA

Board Member

Melissa Brooks is the controller for a large accounting and financial operation in the Greater Washington DC Area. She has nearly three decades of accounting experience with publicly traded and private companies as well as public accounting firms. She’s worked at a number of real estate companies with a range of property types including commercial office buildings, residential apartment communities, hospitality properties, senior living centers, retail shopping centers, and diverse construction and development projects. She also has worked on several initial public offerings. Prior to her current assignment, Mrs. Brooks owned and operated her own accounting firm. She has also held positions at Bresler & Reiner, Inc., The Mills Corporation, Crestline Capital Corporation, Host Marriott, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mrs. Brooks is a Certified Public Accountant with a BS in Accounting and a BA in French. She also has an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Niko Guity, Ph.D.

Board Member

Dr. Guity is an educational strategist with experience in creating caring and dynamic environments that foster a passion for the pursuit of transformational education. Dr. Guity is certified in English and bilingual education, is a research specialist, a curriculum instructional designer, and an instructional leader with 20+ years of improving educational and operational performance through vision, leadership, pedagogical practices, and team building.

Dr. Guity received his education at the University of New York at Albany with a Master’s in Instructional Technology and a Doctorate Degree of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction.  He also holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s in English Education from SUNY Buffalo. When he is not teaching or researching, Kyosei Guity can be found training in the martial arts; he studies Kenjutsu and Okinawa KyuShiki Shorin Ryu Karate. In addition, Dr. Guity enjoys playing and coaching soccer, lacrosse, and basketball.

Judity Lloyd Storfjell, Ph.D.

Advisor

Dr. Storfjall is Profesor Emeritus of the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing (UIC), and former Associate Dean for Academic Practice as well as the Executive Director of the Institute for Healthcare Innovation where she brought in over $50 million in revenues in seven years through clinical practice, contracts, grants, and continuing education. Following her retirement from UIC, Dr. Storfjall accepted a position as Sr. Vice President for Clinical Practice and Chief Nursing Officer at Loma Linda University Health - a 6-hospital system.

For nearly 30 years Dr. Storfjall has consulted on healthcare with an emphasis on organization and management. She has special expertise in integrating financial and operational strategies and introduced activity-based costing and the balanced scorecard in healthcare settings. In 2018, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation commissioned her to author a white paper on the future role of nursing in improving the US Health status. Dr. Storfjall received a Ph.D. in nursing research from the University of Michigan and is currently a visiting professor at Michigan State University's College of Nursing.

Claudette Haynes, Ph.D.

Advisor

Dr. Haynes has been an educator in various capacities for the past forty years. She's served as a Professor and Program Management Coordinator of Early Childhood Education. She is the President and CEO of Others International, a non-profit organization working to empower women and children and to provide training and professional development.

Dr. Haynes is a board member of such organizations as the Lutheran Social Services Board, The North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists Early Childhood Curriculum Education Committee, the Maryland State Department of Education ad hoc committee/accreditation standards committee. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young People and was nominated as the 2012 Woman of the Year by the National Association for Professional Woman. Dr. Haynes holds a Master of Arts in Child Care Administration, a Master of Science in Education, and a Doctorate in Education.
